A percentage of book proceeds will go to the
following groups and other non-profits doing
good work. In this way the ideal of empowerment
and service in the fictional story can live on in the
real world. The websites for these groups are
inspiring and demonstrate how people can create
positive change.
Jump for Joel helps children in Kenya and was
started by a student from the University of Illinois
at Springfield. One unusual project was their
creation at ISU of a “shelter” so to show how
many people live globally with inadequate
housing. See their professional web site and see
what college students can do to make a
difference.

Trees for Life in Kansas was started by a man
from India who immigrated to the United States,
became a successful business man, and started
an organization. This group works on many
continents with tree planting to help the
environment and to produce food. When he
learned of the “moringa tree” as one of the best
sources of food nutrients, he knew it held
potential to help stop world hunger.
